Oh boy! Independence Day 2010!

General Knowledge / General Knowledge

Oh boy. It seemed like just a few weeks ago I was shoveling snow and dealing with icy roads out here in Kansas City. Now the year is halfway through and we are about ready to begin our Fourth of July festivities. And Oh boy!! Do we love our Independence Day holiday here at iResQ!! Seriously, each of us has big plans for this weekend. I can tell you now that our friend and sales manager, Mick, will be holding his annual Independence Day bash at his house. Just take a look at his blog from this time last year. Me, I have a fun filled weekend ahead of me. I’m going to hang out with the family at a lake here in suburban KC for the holiday and will smoke some genuine, good ole’ fashioned Kansas City babyback ribs. There’s almost nothing I love better than spending the entire day smoking ribs. What a payoff it is when they are finally ready and falling off the bone. I can’t wait.

And of course, what is the 4th of July without music? Well, its still the fourth but without music. Yeah yeah, I know, its a corny joke (and one that’s not even funny at that), but as a dad, I am entitled the occasional corny dad joke. Anyhow, you won’t be listening to too much music if your iPod looked like this….

Wow! And the amazing thing about this is the fact that this iPod Touch (Gen 2) still works! They sure can take a licking and keep on ticking I tell ya!! Yeah, dad’s can say things like that too. The thing about Gen 2 and Gen 3 iPod Touches is that the logic board is not in the middle of the device, its actually separated into two parts on each end connected by a ribbon cable. So, in this particular instance, this touch is lucky that it got bent where it did. This means the repair will require just a new screen and a new backplate. This is really reasonable considering the damage that it appears to be in!

So like a dad, I will give a moral to this story: If your Apple device (or Sony PSP for that matter) are in such a horrible state that it looks to be un-repairable, think twice. iResQ can save your damaged iPod, iPhone, iPad, laptop, or PSP which saves you money. Just take a look at this iPad we fixed not too long ago.

In my man Larry David’s words, “that said”, I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday this weekend. And before I leave, I just wanted to remind you that we will be closed on Monday, July 5th due to the holiday. We’ll be back in bright and early in the morning on Tuesday fully equipped and ready to tackle everything that comes our way.
