NASCAR Weekend!

General Knowledge / General Knowledge

The morning’s cool brisk air hits me as I step outside only to be greeted with the warm sun. I see monarch butterflies in the distance, most likely on their way south. I notice birds chirping in the background. What a beautiful way to start off my Friday in this early fall day. It’s October, football season is in full swing, my Chiefs are 3-0, the Kansas City Royal’s season is coming to yet another predictably disastrous end, and I couldn’t be happier. On my way to work, I pop in my trusty old iPod Video and play The Flaming Lips “The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song”. By now I am completely burnt out on that song. It is my son’s favorite song and every time he sees my iPod, he asks me to play it. As I look down at the iPod, I notice that it is in pretty bad shape cosmetically. It’s faceplate is completely scratched and dinged from its years of use. “Well”, I ask myself. “Why don’t I replace the faceplate.” Then it dawned on me. I’m going to try something a little different with my iPod. A lot of people seem to want to convert their iPhone 4’s to white. And I don’t blame ’em. Our White iPhone 4 Conversions look awesome. Maybe I’ll convert my black iPod Video to white.

Ever since Apple announced they were going to release the iPhone 4 in white and delayed its release, people have been looking for alternative solutions for converting them to white. One option out there is simply applying specially designed skins on top of the existing black parts. That is a great deal if you’re looking for a very cheap alternative, but its still not the real deal. We have done tons of white iPhone conversions here since the iPhone 4”s release and the results are phenomenal. Check out our video of a white iPhone 4 conversion that we did in case you missed it. Stunning, I must say.

Back to my old and trusty iPod Video. As I was driving to work I thought to myself, “Well, I’m going to do something a little different than just changing everything to white.” I wanted something unique. Not off the cuff, but something that would allow me to distinguish my iPod from most others out there. I know this is not the first time this has been done, and it probably won’t be the last, but I decided to mix and match a little. I replaced the old, black faceplate with a brand new white faceplate. I was going to keep my black scroll wheel and use a white center button instead of the black one. Once I was finished, the results impressed me way more than I thought it would. Take a look at what I came up with.

As I said, I am not the only one out here with this combination of parts on my iPod. In the end its just a white iPod with a black scroll wheel, but, its new to me and that’s what matters. If you like the way the iPod looks and want to do the same thing, or something similar to your iPod video, just let one of our tech’s know when you send in your iPod or write some special instructions during the checkout process. We’ll get you taken care of.

That’s all I have for today. Remember, if your’e still yearning for the White iPhone 4 and don’t want to wait on Apple, we’re here for ya. Add this White iPhone 4 Conversion to your shopping cart, follow the instructions, and you’ll be a happy camper.

One last thing, one of my fellow employees, Nic, is an avid NASCAR fan. And guess what, we are going to be hosting this week’s NASCAR races here at good old Kansas Speedway. Nic is sure to be there all weekend grillin’ it up and tailgating, and yes, you are allowed to bring coolers in the stands. I wish I was going there. But alas! I have to head up to St. Joseph this weekend for a cousin’s birthday party. Here is what Nic has to say about this weekend’s upcoming NASCAR Sprint cup event:

“This weekend is going to be a busy weekend for NASCAR. With the controversy from the first Chase race still looming and some drivers trash talking, look for retaliation hits on the track, and the possibility of some non-chase winners this week at Kansas Speedway for this 3rd race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.”
