How to Check MacBook Memory

How-to Repairs

Do you want your MacBook to keep up with your lightning speed working abilities? You may want to check its memory to see if you can upgrade it.

Knowing how much RAM (random access memory) your MacBook has will tell you if you can increase it. When you have plenty of RAM, your computer can run more applications without any or much hesitation. The process to find out if you can upgrade your RAM is pretty simple, so let’s get started.

Check Your MacBook Memory

You can check how much memory you currently have in your Mac by going to the Apple menu and selecting About This Mac.

To find out if it is upgradable, click on “More Info” and then “Memory.” You will see a blue box that will tell you how many GBs you have installed in your MacBook. This screen will also tell you how many memory slots the MacBook has with the type of memory it will accept.

The last piece of information is important. It will tell you if all of your memory slots are in use. If they are in use, and they have the most amount of memory your MacBook accepts, you can’t upgrade. However, if it doesn’t, you can!
