Lower Your Screen’s Brightness Setting
One of the quickest battery drains is an unnecessarily bright screen. Especially if you are indoors, you can lower your brightness to less than half and still be able to see your screen just fine. You can do this by swiping open the Control Center and using the brightness slider or by entering Settings and then Display & Brightness
Close Unnecessary Battery Wasters
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirDrop are all taking up battery life when they are left on. If you do not need these programs at the moment then you can turn them off in your Settings menu or in your Control Center. Handoff is another battery waster you can turn off if you’re unlikely to want to switch tasks between your iPhone and your iPad.
In addition, leaving apps open when you’re not using them can also drain your battery. It’s a good idea to close any apps you’re finished with—even if you think you’ll use them later—if you’re trying to save some battery life for when later comes.
Turn Off Location Services, Push Notifications, and Background App Refresh
All of these (often unnecessary) services that your apps will be more than happy to perform are huge battery wasters, especially because they are usually going on when you don’t need them to be. You don’t really need push notifications for most apps, and having one of your fast food apps knowing where you are all the time is kinda creepy. You can turn off location services, push notifications, and background app refresh for certain apps as you see fit, or if you prefer, turn them all off entirely.
Keep Your iPad Cool
Allowing your device to get overheated can also drain the battery, so it’s important to make sure you keep your iPad nice and cool. It’s usually best to maintain a temperature of below 72 degrees if you can (and no higher than 95 degrees), so if you take your device to the beach, keep it out of the sun.
