Holiday apps relieve some of the shopping stress

It wouldn't be the holiday season without a little gift-giving stress. Managing time and resources can get anyone feeling a little overworked. But a recent app round-up by the New York Times found apps that will ease some of the shopping-related anxiety this year. Smart list-managing programs like Santa's Bag keep track of finances while informative scanners like RedLaser provide product details, reviews and price comparisons. Jim Donovan of CBS Philly wrote a similar guide, focusing on RedLaser and on deal alerts and coupon redemption from an app called Shopular.

But what about after the holidays? Manage gift receipts and track return period expirations with ReturnGuru. Donovan also said that many major retailers have their own individual apps – he specifically mentioneds Target, Walmart, Toys R Us and Macy's. Why so many deals apps? It may be because approximately 60 percent of mobile device users to obtain price information on their smartphones and tablets.
