Users continue to have problems with iPhone 5 cameras

How-to Repairs

The iPhone 5s and 5c helped to boost Apple's smartphone line to the next level with more advanced hardware and features that are competitive with other vendors on the market. However, many users still have a problem with iPhone 5 camera capabilities. While this technology has advanced considerably since the first iPhone, many owners continue to have issues related to the camera that have yet to be effectively addressed.

Apple's newest products created better security opportunities and opened up the path for future innovations. The camera was improved from the iPhone's previous iterations, giving users more convenience in the palm of their hand. Cult of Mac noted that smartphone cameras are now producing photos that have quality images comparable to regular cameras.  In particular, the iPhone's new improved sensor and the A7 chip have improved low light capabilities and enabled burst mode and slo-mo features. These new tools have significantly enhanced the iPhone camera's effectiveness, and the technology is expected to continue improving.

“The iPhone will only improve as a camera,” according to the source. “If ever you needed a good example of the way Apple makes vast improvements in its products while pundits look on, only seeing the small year-to-year incremental tweaks, then the camera is it.”

Focusing on camera issues
Despite the amount of enhancements made to the iPhone camera, there are still numerous issues that have been associated with this technology. Digital Trends cited camera malfunctions as a common problem, with some users having the application freeze while others claim the front-facing camera is blurry. Owners can get around these obstacles by restarting the program or rebooting the device itself. While these may not be permanent solutions, they can allow users to regain control quickly. Users often also have issues with the keyboard orientation after using the camera in the lock screen. This fix is a bit easier as users just need to slide across the screen, but this glitch has since been patched in the iOS 7.1 beta.

“Every new operating system has its issues and Apple's iOS 7 is certainly no exception,” according to the source. “We've seen a multitude of bug reports rolling in and, while many people have updated successfully, there's no shortage of people encountering glitches or even major problems.”
