Mobile devices such as the iPhone can provide numerous valuable services to travelers, and many have come to rely on various apps while taking trips. But, as many wayfarers can testify, a journey can be hard on technology and may result in the need for iPhone screen repair.
Apps that facilitate travel by locating restaurants, hotels and tourist spots are becoming more popular and increasingly common for tourists visiting a new town. Programs that offer services such as trail maps and information about plants and animals cater to outdoor types. Bored travelers everywhere can amuse themselves with games during long flights. While some of these situations may not seem to pose any danger for an iPhone, accidents can happen anywhere.
An array of cases
One way to avoid iPhone repair is to carry the device in a protective case. GearLeash has developed what it calls a GSi case that fits the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 models. The case magnetically attaches to a holster that holds it in place during periods of activity, according to a press release. The bumper case is made from alloy steel and molded plastic, and it is designed to provide a snug fit. GearLeash is hoping to raise $12,500 through a Kickstarter campaign to make the device available to the public.
Other cases that are currently available include the Otterbox, which recently announced its line of covers for the new iPhone 5S and 5C models. The new Otterbox product is designed specifically to accommodate the fingerprint identification function on the iPhone 5S, according to MacRumors.
Apple provided some security against needing iPhone repair services with its iPhone 5C design. The back of the phone is clad in durable plastic reinforced by steel that is expected to be sturdier than current aluminum and glass models, according to Jaunted. The lower price also makes the prospect of breakage less frightening.
“Since the phone is relatively cheap – with a contract, it's $99 for the 16GB model, or $199 for 32GB – the iPhone 5C won't bring about as hard a hit to the wallet if you, say, forget to take it out of your swimtrunks pocket before cannonballing into a pool,” Jaunted stated. “We can think of innumerable other accidents to befall the phone, but you get the point.”
As accidents can happen anywhere and at any time, unlucky travelers everywhere can benefit from iResQ's iPhone screen repair and iPhone glass repair services.
