MacBook Err?

General Knowledge / General Knowledge

So Mike already discussed the cool new stuff that Apple announced at the Expo on Tuesday. I’m not here to complain; seriously, I think the MacBook Air is a great concept. But how big is the market for what essentially amounts to a totally wireless, limited-options, 64GB $3100 secondary computer? Don’t get me wrong, the remote disk is extremely innovative and Ryan here has been saying they’ve been needing that for the last 15 years, but what’s the point unless you have another computer to access remotely? Ok, ok. So I still want one. Bloody hell, they know how to market. Moving on…

Gotta make one recommendation to all the readers out there. The wife and I rented Paris, je t’aime (Paris, I Love You) the other night. It’s a collection of vignettes about love from the city that made it famous, each one by a different director. There are some recognizable faces (Natalie Portman, Bob Hoskins, even Nick Nolte) and notable directors (Alfonso Cuarón, Alexander Payne, the Coen Brothers), as well as some of the best auteurs that Europe and Asia have to offer. Each story, set in a different district of Paris, offers a totally different interpretation of love through joy, heartbreak, and even horror. Go check it out. Better yet, rent it for $3.99 on the new iTunes for Apple TV. I guarantee you’ll find something you like. Peaces.
