IPhone 5S outselling IPhone 5C 2 to 1

With last month's debut of both the iPhone 5S and 5C, many tech industry experts wondered which one consumers would be most interested in. Well, that answer is resoundingly the 5S, despite the higher price tag, reported Bloomberg News.

According to three recent surveys, sales for the 5S were outpacing sales of the 5C by at least two-to-one margins. Many businesses, like Wal-Mart, have already begun to slash prices on the 5C, despite the cost of the model being $100 less than the 5S. This indicates that the superior hardware of the 5S and features are more important to consumers than prices.

“Apple customers are still interested in premium products from a premium brand,” Laurence Balter, an analyst at Oracle Investment Research told Bloomberg. “If anything, the 5C is a failed experiment in trying to please the masses. Apple should stay focused on the premium and let Samsung take the lower end of the market.”

Some are blaming the slow sales of the 5C on a couple of factors. One is that perception of the device is not close to the same quality as the 5S. Secondly, the price for the 5C is still fairly high and many customers don't want to spend that amount of money on a smartphone that isn't up to par with other Apple products.

5S features set it apart
The iPhone 5S sales continue to grow, mainly because of all of the new technology that is included in the device. BGR contributor Zach Epstein looked back on his first month with the device and opined that this 'S' upgrade is much better than previous Apple 'S' upgrades.

The biggest jump from the 5 to the 5S came in the form of processing power. The 64-bit A7 processor improves a user's ability to run games and graphic-heavy applications, taking it a step forward in terms of computing power. Battery life is also improved, thanks to a larger capacity cell than was in it's predecessor. Other features like the fingerprint scanner and new camera capabilities are also improvements on the iPhone 5.

Any iPhone users experiencing issues with their new devices, such as battery life, should send them to iResQ, where expert technicians will take care of any iPhone repair needed.
