As advanced as Apple continues to make their devices, most are in need of a resetting every now and then. In fact, resetting an iPad is one of the first solutions recommended for troubleshooting device problems such as lag time slow running speed or an incorrectly working app.
If an app freezes or your iPad appears to be stuck, resetting the device is a good first approach to getting it back in working order. In order to reset your device, you will need to first locate the “Sleep/Wake” button, which is on the top right edge of the iPad. Press the “Sleep/Wake” button and the “Home” button at the same time, holding both down for approximately 10 seconds. The “Home” button is the one located on the bottom center of the display.

Select the “General” tab, which should be located in the left column, and then tap the “Reset” tab at the bottom of the main screen. Finally, select “Reset All Settings” in order to reset the device's settings while leaving all your data and files intact.

After confirming, the iPad will begin to erase the data on the device, which should take a few minutes.
