How to Fix the iPad Keyboard

iPad /

Many people are having a problem with their iPad keyboard. They can’t seem to figure out how to fix it when the keyboard splits in half. The solution is quite simple because it’s just a setting.

About the Split Keyboard on the iPad

When you iPad keyboard splits in half, one side of the keyboard is on the left side, and the other is on the right side. The reason Apple made this possible was so people could type on it using both of their hands. Since most people’s fingers can’t reach all the way to the middle of the keyboard, splitting it enabled them to type just as do on their smartphone.

The problem is that some people don’t like it. It is a little awkward, so we don’t blame them. Usually, people have no idea how they made their keyboard split. Probably because they performed an unintentional gesture that made it happen.

How to Turn Off the Split iPad Keyboard

You can bring the keyboard back to being all together easily by taking two fingers and squeezing the sides together. Some people can’t get this gesture right, so they need to go into settings to make the keyboard go back to the way it’s supposed to be.

All you have to do is tap on Settings, tap on General, tap on Keyboard, and then switch the Split Keyboard to off. You should see the keyboard go right back to the way it was originally.

There’s another way to turn the split keyboard off. You can simply hold down the keyboard button down for a couple of seconds. This should automatically merge the two sides.

Most people will do the settings rather than the shortcuts, but now you have all of the options to choose from.
