What Are the Most Common Problems with Kindles (And How Can I Fix Mine)?

Tablets /

Kindles can be tricky to fix, but there are a few at-home remedies you can try before bringing yours into the professionals.

My Kindle Won’t Turn On

When you’re encountering issues with your Kindle’s startup, you’ll want to try a few things yourself before bringing it to us. For example, try holding down the power button for 20 seconds. This will reboot the device. Then, all you have to do is tap the power button again, and it should turn on. If this doesn’t work, try holding the power button down and plugging it in. If you try to turn it on again and it still won’t work, you may need to come to us.

My Kindle Won’t Connect to WiFi

If you’re having serious issues with your Kindle connecting to the Internet, restart it. You should also check to make sure your device is not in Airplane Mode and that it is charged. Once you’ve done all this, you can try downloading an app that will examine your WiFi problems, such as the WiFi Analyzer. If none of this works, call us.

My Kindle Says, “An Internal Error Has Occurred.”

This could mean a number of things. The first step you’ll want to take is to restart your Kindle. Next, you can turn off your WiFi for a few minutes and then turn it back on. You can also go into your applications by selecting the Installed Applications section of the menu. Once you find the app that is causing the internal error, press Force Stop. If this still isn’t helping, we would be happy to look at your device.

My Kindle Will Not Charge

This does occur quite a lot and can often be a very simple solution. You may just need to turn your Kindle off while it’s charging or move the cable a little while it sits in the port in order to jostle it into the right connection. However, sometimes the cable can become frayed, which means it won’t be able to charge anything. If this occurs, you’ll need to get a new charger cable. If none of these issues are occurring, bring your Kindle to us.

We can fix any your Kindle may have and get it back to you within 24 hours of when you agreed to the repairs. Call us today or just stop by.
