The iPod Touch has a Screen assembly that is similar to the iPhone. It is made up of 2 replaceable parts, specifically the LCD Screen itself, and the Digitizer. You may be confused when ordering either from above but in a nutshell, the Digitizer needs to be replaced when all or a portion of the "touch" capability stops working, or if you scratch the surface of unit and want to repair it.

The Screen needs to be replaced when there is physical damage to the the screen itself and if your picture seems "cracked" or if all or a portion of the picture on your iPod Touch stops working.
