3G iPhone Upgrade Frequently Asked Questions (iPhone 2.0)This section will hopefully help people decide if they want to upgrade to the new 3G iPhone. It is meant for people who already have the older style iPhones. Apple and AT&T are keeping quiet about this whole procedure, so not all this information is 100% verified although we have gathered as much solid information as we can. Q: IS APPLE OFFERING A NEW, FASTER 3G IPHONE FOR $199? A: Yes. This is for new AND current AT&T subscribers. The 3G network provides faster internet speeds but for an extra $10/month data fee. For example, if you are currently spending about $80/month for your plan, you can expect that to bump up to $90/month when you get a 3G iPhone and activate it. Since you can sell your old iPhone to iResQ for $50, you can get a new one by only spending $150! Q: WILL IRESQ BUY MY OLD IPHONE? A: Yes. We will offer up to $50 for a working iPhone in normal cosmetic condition. If it has any cracks in the screen, if it is damaged in some way or not working, we will not be able to offer the full $50. But in theory, you could buy a new iphone from Apple for $199 and then get $50 of that back by selling your old iphone to us. Q: CAN I BUY ADDITIONAL INSURANCE FROM AT&T FOR MY IPHONE? A: No. AT&T does not provide any protection or insurance for the iphone. You can purchase an Applecare protection plan from Apple ($69 for 3 years) but it will not cover a dropped or wet unit - only factory defects. That is where we come in! Contact iResQ if you do have any of those issues and we can help you. Q: IF I DAMAGE MY 3G IPHONE, CAN I JUST BUY A NEW ONE FOR $199? A: No. Unfortunately, You will be responsible for the full replacement fee which is somewhere closer to $400. In other words, you might want to get your iphone fixed rather than buying a new one. Again, contact iResQ and we can perform any repairs you might need. Q: IS EVERYONE WITH AN OLD IPHONE ELIGIBLE FOR A NEW ONE AT $199? A: Yes. The only people who cannot buy a new iPhone for $199 are people who do NOT currently have an iphone and have switched to AT&T within the last 6 months. This is according to AT&T directly. IRESQ PURCHASING QUESTIONS Q: HOW DO I SELL MY OLD IPHONE TO IRESQ? A: Simply fill out the form on this page. We will e-mail you a fedex label to send your iphone to us safely. You will need to find your own packaging (please make the packaging as small as possible while still protecting the iphone). Once we get your iPhone, we will test it to make sure it works.
