And they have a couple of interesting features.
1) The LCD appears to be factory glued to the digitizer which is more similar to the first generation iPhones than the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The digitizer can be separated from the LCD on the 3G and 3GS models, which should be interesting to all, but for the repair folks like us–this means that the 4G screen repair price will be higher since both parts will have to be replaced at once.
2) The iPhone 4G front panel seems to be about 1/4″ longer than its predecessors.
3) There is an interesting reflective, mirror-like surface directly above the speaker. This is likely a spot for the proximity sensor. If that’s what it is, it’s in a different location than previous models.
UPDATE: There are a lot of skeptics out there and rightly so. There have been a lot of “leaked” photos from various Apple products in the past that have turned out to be parts for another product. Here are the things that we know: a) The phone has not been released yet. Until it is, Apple could change the product design or the parts we have acquired could be prototypes. Since we don’t have an actual fourth-generation iPhone in our hands, we have no way to know for sure. b) We obtained this part as a sample from a reputable source. They have been reputable up to this point, and have provided genuine parts for us in the past.
We are a repair company and it’s in our best interest to get samples of these new parts as they become available to us. Of course it is possible that these are not the final design or these are parts for another product completely, but that is not how they have been demonstrated to us. If these parts are not for the fourth generation iPhone, we will obviously not be using them for future repairs when the new iPhones do come out.

Here are the photos:

From left to right, you have the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the iPhone 4G front panel.

On the left, the iPhone 3GS front panel. On the right, the iPhone 4G front panel assembly. Note the difference in length and the reflective surface above the speaker, presumably for the proximity sensor.

Thanks for looking. We will continue to obtain these parts in anticipation of the 4G release.

Hi all,
We’re modest folks, but sometimes you need to pat yourself on the back a little for all your hard work. What am I talking about? Well, you’re lookin’ at it. We’ve allocated every last drop of our resources to overhauling our web site. It’s actually a COMPLETE overhaul — not just on the end that you can see, but also our order processing and customer management system has been updated.
Remember this little guy?:

Old Website circa 2009
Well, as much as we loved our old website, there comes a time where technology needs to be upgraded. Rest in peace, old friend.
Some of our staff members have been sitting in meetings for a long, long time to get this bad boy out. I’d say it’s worth the effort, wouldn’t you? Feel free to email me and let me know what you think. Special thanks to Keith the webmaster and our friends at IDP (who aren’t strangers to the spotlight).
Needless to say, all the folks who work here and aren’t busy on the phones or repairing your iPods, iPhones, PSPs, and Macbooks every day have been busy making the iResQ web presence a better place for you and me. We’ve made significant enhancements to the look, feel, and most of all, customer experience. You can read all about it from our press release (iPod & iPhone Repair Leader’s Improved Website Allows Order Tracking, Faster Turnarounds, New Repair Services) which includes a nice little tutorial video in case you are new to ordering on the web.
Don’t worry, we’re the same company with the same people. We just look a little different!
Your pal,

iPad,iPad, iPad. Sound familiar? Yeah, that’s because the whole world is abuzz with iPad talk. Seems like a pretty good deal- even with the $130 surcharge for 3G capability, there’s a whole mess of stuff an iPad can do for $629 that most netbooks can’t. For example, run Mac OSX. And implement the best touch-screen technology in existence. Pow.
Yes, I know what skeptics are saying. You can’t multi-task or use Flash. How, you ask, does this constitute the perfect browsing experience? I have to be honest- though these faults seem fairly debilitating, Apple has rarely disappointed with new devices. And when they have made mistakes (*cough* EDGE iPhone *cough*) they corrected them by the next generation’s release. So where do you weigh in on the iPad potential? Despite its shortcomings it’s still a pretty cool device that consumers will be lining up outside of retail stores to buy. And we have parts on the way, so if you’re one of those consumers and you just happen to drop your iPad on the pavement as you leave the store, we’ll be here to take care of you. Hey ladies and gentlemen and gentlewomen. Exciting news today, if you haven’t heard already. If, in fact, you haven’t, let me give you a hint. The PowerBook G3. The PowerBook G4. iTunes. The iPod. The Intel-based MacBook line. The iPhone. See where we’re going with this? That’s right, Apple unveiled the newest item in their portable devices family. The iPad, Apple’s next-generation portable, was announced today at the quarterly developers conference. And if it seems years beyond its closest relative, the Apple Newton, that’s because it is. And even though it’s been seventeen years since that debacle was unleashed on the tech world, the leap forward in technology makes it seem like decades. The touch screen technology so well-implemented in the iPhone and iPod Touch has been waiting for a larger format to show off what it can do. Smooth. Sorry, Microsoft- what was that Edsel-esque thing that was going to change the personal computer? Surface? Um, yeah. Try again.
So it looks like Apple will be releasing all sorts of new apps for the iPad in the next few months. That iBooks app looks like a pretty sharp competitor for the Kindle, except the name brings up some bad memories of BO-stench keyboards and failing video cards. So it goes. Keep an eye out at Macrumors or Gizmodo for new developments. Peace, y’all.
